Hi Naomi,

I would be very interested in the responses, so it would be wonderful if you could share.

I guess the first thing to establish, would be: what does effectiveness *mean*? What is considered *succes*? We all know breastfeeding is a complex issue in a society and it is difficult to have a one-on-one related causation between things.
Scandinavian countries are known for their high BF-rates. And there are hardly IBCLC's - if any at all :-)

Hello all,

I am looking for some research data on IBCLCs. For the moment, I am looking at the US in particular, but I’d be interested in global data as well.

1. Where to they practice? How many practice in hospitals, NICUs, WBUs, private practices, clinics?
2. What do we know about their effectiveness in various settings? BF initiation? Exclusivity? Duration? Other measures?
