You got it right, Seth! Even a simple but easy to find button would help and the whole job can be done in a couple of hours. One other thing: more and more searches are done with smart phones. Having a website optimized for mobile isn't expensive and can also help.

Of course I also wish museums would put contact info for VPs and Directors of Exhibitions on the landing page, too! ;-)

Good morning, all.

Here is something simple to do today that might prove useful. Go to your
website's home page. Does it say on the home page where you are located? I
can't tell you how many times I go to a museum or science center website and
have to dig around to find the city, let alone physical location, of the
organization. I suppose that there may be an assumption that people who
visit the web site already know these facts but I think that is erroneous.
Think about how many museums and science centers have similar names and
similar URLs. Simply putting the name of your town on the home page will
probably help a lot of people. I've even gone to "Visit Us" pages where I
only found the hours and still no address. It is usually on the "Contact Us"
page but not always there, either. I suggest that putting your address in
all three places is prudent.

No matter how your web page is designed, it should be a simple matter for
the website manager to put your address at the bottom of the home page if
not somewhere more prominent. I think it's worth taking a look today and
passing along a note to whoever is in charge of such things at your
organization. You will make some web surfers very happy. Have a great day.

- Seth!
