This message is specifically geared toward those of you who create or lead children's programming for school field trips.

We are in the process of making some changes to our onsite field trip program for 5th and 6th graders and I would love some input from other educators on this listserv. Below is my list of questions, roughly in order of importance (for those of you who don't have time to answer them all). Please respond to me off-list.

Thank you in advance for any information you can share!

About your programs for visiting school groups (especially those for children in grades 4-6):
How long is the program? 1 hour, 2 hour, full school day?
What proportion of the activities are outside and/or involve physically moving around?

Interactions with teachers & students:
Do you interact with teachers before the visit? If so, how?
What are your expectations of the teachers? Of the adult chaperones?
How do you express these expectations to them?
How/when do you express your expectations (when they first arrive, at certain points in the program, throughout the visit)?
Do you follow up with the teachers after their visit?

About your staff:
How do you divide up the student (size)? How many people do you have working with each group?
How many total staff/volunteers do you have? How many are paid staff? How many are volunteers?
What kind of training do you offer staff &/or volunteers?
What kind of background &/or commitment do you expect of your volunteers?
