ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

There's a multitude of fun and fabulous technologies out there! The key is
to first prioritize your use(s) for the space starting with audiences,
goals, and learning objectives. From there, it quickly becomes clear whether
you need 3D, multiple screens, large screen, surround sound, special
effects, comfy theater seats, audience response, podiums, stage with set
pieces, etc.

We're currently developing a life-size holographic theater, with multiple
large screens (some curved), aboard an aircraft carrier. Although the space
will undoubtedly be used for other events, formative evaluation (and logic)
told us to focus on creating the very best immersive experience possible and
keep other uses secondary.

Also, since this project has a four-year development schedule we're waiting
as long as possible to purchase technology so we can maximize budget dollars
and ensure we're receiving the most up-to-date items.

similar renovation? Any lessons learned, or recommendations, regarding
equipment, content, and multi-use options for the theater itself?
