Hello Lynn -

We were just at the Maker Faire in NYC (just down the path from you, I believe) with scienceforcitizens.net<http://scienceforcitizens.net/> . I had about 200 fliers printed up – all had our QR code, and although all the fliers were picked up, by my estimation, about a third or more of that number instead whipped out their iPhones and clicked on the code, bookmarked our website and left without a flier. It should be noted that this was a particularly tech-savvy audience (and there were a k'jillion people there – it was heaven… Whoot! To the NY Hall of Science) it did seem that (via comments made) many were quite glad that we were taking the initiative to have an alternative to collecting paper. The Coolness Factor was great.

We used http://www.qurify.com<http://www.qurify.com/> to generate the code. You can set it up so that the code takes visitors to a dummy site (I can't remember if bit.ly does this or not), then immediately redirects them your actual site. Then we get the stats from the dummy site for hits.

I'm still putting together the numbers as to the response online from the QR code use, but I should have those soon and can certainly share them with you. Just give me a prod in a couple weeks!

Cheers-
Carlyn
