Dear Kim,

During my time traveling with an exhibit in the US, I found the temp labor who were also theater techs to be the most valuable. They were used to learning new spaces quickly, took direction and initiative well, etc. My favorite group were the guys temping at OMSI in Portland who were puppeteers. They were really fun to work with!

We are considering using a temp agency to supply us the manpower we need
to set up and strike traveling exhibits. Has anyone had experience
using temp labor for this function and if so, what has your experience
been - good, bad? I have a small exhibits staff so the temp labor would
do the majority of the work
