Hello,
Our capital campaign included an initiative called "Project Art". The three large permanent installations were determined after an international call for submissions and a jury review.
The largest piece - Cloud- has significant presence in our Great Hall. Info can be seen in the link below, but other photos can be found in our 'private events' section of our website where photos show that evening functions sometimes coordinate their colours and theme to complement this amazing piece of art.

Its really big, it will be installed in our central pavilion at the heart of the museum, about 8k ft2. The theme of the exhibition is "community and sustainability." We will do a full-on catalog for the 3-month exhibition.

The artists were selected by a jury, the work that we are commissioning is new, the them is intentionally broad. I know Science Gallery in Dublin has done a number of exhibitions like this, but I can't think of any science museum that has.
