Pittsburgh's original Buhl Planetarium and Institute of Popular Science (1939-1991) also had a painted sundial, using a person as the gnomon, painted on the Allegheny Square Plaza (previously West Ohio Street, closed to traffic in the 1960s) in front of the science center/planetarium building, in the late 1980s and 1990s.
