Subject: counting to 100

hey all,

we will be celebrating the 100th day of the year next month (I'll save you the trouble of counting. it's April 10, which is a Saturday) and I'm looking for some ideas. Our big challenge is that we are sorely understaffed at the moment, so I'm looking for some activities that are DIY without making a huge mess.

A few things I've thought of:
jars of 100 objects, just to see what 100 looks like
jars of more/less than 100--try to guess which one actually has 100
take 100 steps. where do you think you'll wind up?
how far is 100 inches/feet/miles etc
paper chains of 100 loops
necklaces of 100 cheerios

you get the idea. I'd love more suggestions.

thanks!
and if you're interested, today is the 69th day of the year.
