Hi All,

There was a really great and particularly relevant book about the nature of pleasure, and how we come to value things. Bloom's research has application across many, many facets of human behavior and folds biology, sociology, psychology, and anthropology into the study of what makes us tick. It's relevant with respect to all aspects of our move to the piers, as well as things like, Art and Visitor Research, and the exploration of the pleasure of nature.

You can hear it on Sci Friday, NPR or read the book.

The author folds many recent studies, like the guy playing the violin in the subway, the taste of wine, the value of a celebrity sweater, Galileo's thumb, or why we think the person we love looks beautiful or handsome. It wraps evolutionary theory into the mix as well.

It's one of the most insightful recent pieces of research on the nature of human behavior.
