Oh, there's some good ones with sound!

1) A resonating aluminum rod can be really loud, and is
cheap/durable/easy. Usually marketed as the "singing rod" ie here:
 http://sciencekit.com/singing-rod/p/IG0023754/ (Flinn Scientific even
makes them in different lengths)
2) You can get a lot of volunteers to help you, and kids love the Boom
Whackers
http://www.stevespanglerscience.com/product/1179
3) Ricci tubers (pipes with wire screen that's heated with a blow torch)
are also cool. It's not online, but Flinn lists them in their catalogue
as "singing tubes"
4) Wanna break the sound barrier? Just use a bullwhip. Takes a bit of
practice, but makes you look macho.

Hello,
We are planning our new "show" for the upcoming school year. We were
considering a show on Sound. If you have a fantastic Sound show, I
would love to hear from you. Besides the Ruben's Tube, are there some
other Wow-y, super cool demos, or is this a difficult one to make
exciting?

If we don't go with Sound, I'd love some suggestions. We have
Combustion, Liquid Nitrogen, Chemistry and Air. What are your favorite
shows and demos?

Thanks in advance for any feedback!
