Hey - I said it was my pet peeve (insert smilely emoticon here....)

Rebecca, I had forgotten that ASTC recommends the logo and exp.
date.....

Of course there should be policy - but there also has to be planning
for contingency. The question was would you reciprocate with limited
credentials, not how you identify your own members.

Think of your own experiences with customer service where you've
encountered someone, perhaps on the phone, that says to you, "I'm
sorry, our policy....," when everything could be so easily resolved
if that representative was allowed a little discretion.

What I was suggesting (in my own abrasive way) is to err on the side
of customer service first. I would rather someone at the front desk
accept whatever sign of reciprocal membership is proffered, then we
can take the time to figure out how our system needs to be
tweaked. ....Its a very low risk proposition. You may be out a few
dollars of admission for the day, but you'll have gained important
insight into operations. To me, its like the difference between
posting a sign on a door that reads, "No Food or Drink" or one that
reads "Please No Food or Drink." (Whether or not anyone reads that
sign is a different matter.....)
