Daniel:

Here's a resource about the original Curious George. At the Self-Reliance
Foundation, we do media and outreach targeting Latino families. One type
of outreach we have developed is La Pagina Familiar de la Ciencia (Family
Science Page), which features kid-friendly interviews with scientists,
activities to do at home, games, puzzles, etc. We disseminate the page to
various Spanish-language newspapers across the country. In most regions of the
country, you will find one or more Spanish-language papers. Here in DC, we
have eight or nine. Our family page is featured weekly on the full back
page of El Pregonero, which has a circuation of about 35,000.

We have done several pages featuring Curious George, in collaboration with
WGBH. You could "recycle these pages," as appropriate or we could talk
with WGBH about doing some new pages. You could include several pages as
part of whatever kind of press kit or resources you provide with the exhibit.

We are also interested in developing partnerships with science centers of
children's museums who want to feature the page in their community. One of
our new partners is the Arizona Science Center, which works with a local
Spanish-language paper to run a combination of the generic features we
develop as well as some local content (e.g., listings of family events at ASC,
etc.). Since we provide the content to the newspapers at no charge, we do
not pay for the space and ask the newspapers to run the page weekly or
monthly at no charge as a service to their readers; most papers are happy to do
that.

So the Museum of Science or any other science or any other science center
is interested in the Family Science page, please let me know. I will send
you a pdf sample of the page and we can take it from there.

Boston Children's Museum is preparing to host an exhibit featuring
everyone's favorite monkey, Curious George! We're thinking it would be fun to have
a display of other famous Georges, ideally creative and curious thinkers,
scientists, engineers, inventors, etc.

Who's *your* favorite George?

TIA,
AD
