I have looked for it on numerous occasions in the stores with no luck.
I have been told it was available online.

Ah yes, Mrs. Stewart, that rings a bell. Is it still possible to buy
that? I'll be looking around.

Thanks

Try this recipe from Mrs. Stewart's Bluing:

<http://www.mrsstewart.com/pages/scginstructions.htm>

The crystals form quite rapidly.

You definitely should use the ammonia. When I've done this in the
classroom, I just mix up the solution in a big plastic bottle and keep
shaking it up.

I give each student a disposable cup with some crumpled up paper towel
inside and pour the crystal solution in.

Good luck!
