Looking for a great way to warm up for the engaging and inspiring
conversations you'll have at the Annual ASTC Conference next month? Not able
to make the trip to Philadelphia but still want to connect with colleagues?

Then join us from September 16 - 26 for "*Research Informing Practice:
Building a Better Field Trip" *in the ASTC Connect Field Trips Forum!

We will start with a discussion about and reactions to the article
"Free-choice worksheets increase students' exposure to curriculum during
museum visits" by Marianne F. Mortensen and Kimberly Smart (2008). In the
process we'll learn from each other what current research and best practices
across cultural institutions say about increasing the effectiveness of
school field trips.

To join the group, please visit www.astc.org/astc_connect. If you don't have
an account, sign-up is free. Once you are in, select the Field Trips Forum
and enter the password "field" to join the discussion. Go ahead and
introduce yourself while you're there!

If you've joined a discussion in the Field Trips Forum in the past, please
login and let us know what you've been up to!

We hope to see you online,

Bill Watson
