It took one of my dogs a couple weeks to trust the water in the dog
bowl when we moved from chlorinated Northern woods river water to
limestone-filtered South Texas resevoir water. Quite a bit more
limey out of these taps!

Dogs aren't exactly well-known as conniseurs of flavor, alas, this
particular mutt knew what he liked, and preferred to stick with it.

A touring musician friend swears by bottled water--says the different
pHs from different taps around the country mess with his alimentary
canal. I've toured, myself, and report no such problems of which I
am conscious.

BTW, the dog never hesitated to drink from a plastic bottle. I,
however, have switched to a refillable stainless steel receptacle for
my daily hydration and it gets a resounding Aye vote.
