Two more seminars in the NSDL free web seminar series, a part of the NSTA
series for educator professional development:

Computational Biology: Tomorrow, 12/11, 6:30-8:00 pm Eastern

The face of contemporary biology has changed due to the genomic revolution
and the move towards computational models and systems thinking to describe
and study biological phenomena. Our presenter, Dr. Jeff Krause,
computational biologist and educator at the Shodor Foundation, Inc will
examine current study in biology through the use of computational modeling
and some of the resources available to both researchers and educators
online.

Discover Microbial Worlds: January 8, 2008, 6:30-8:00 pm Eastern

Bacteria are more than just "germs" or disease agents. The evolutionary,
ecological, and economic importance of these microbes is not well known
among the general public. Join us as we explore the world of microbes and
bring current study and research in biodiversity, molecular biology methods,
bioinformatics, and molecular evolution concepts into your classrooms.

Our presenters Sarah Bordenstein and Dr. Seth Bordenstein from the Marine
Biological Laboratory at Woods Hole, Massachusetts will showcase research,
online teacher resources, and training opportunities in this fascinating
area of study. This seminar is for teachers of grades 9-12. Register today!
