For anyone who works in the Washington DC area, or who will be there between May 10th and 12th, a truly impressive full scale model of NASA's Webb Space Telescope (Hubble's successor, launching in 2013) will be on display on the National Mall adjacent to the National Air & Space Museum. Representatives from NASA, industry, and the Space Telescope Science Institute will be on hand to give tours of the model, which is the size of a tennis court, and to discuss the science research it will undertake.
