Hi
I believe Len Adams presented Inquiry Cubes at ASTC at one time. The
version he used has names on it like you describe. Len said:

"The activity as I used it came from the UW Physics by Inquiry Group via
Pam Kraus... It also exists out there in the wild with variations
including letting people know what's written on the underside of the
cubes at the end of the activity with real names and numbers as opposed
to the question marks I've used."

If you want a copy of the activity that was presented, please email me
separately, because ISEN doesn't allow attachments. It is a 2-3 page
PDF. Thanks.

The Arizona Science Center has used the cubes as as an introductory
activity to many of our programs and classes for years. I have the
directions on how to use them but not the name of the originator. Check
out this website for templates and directions and possibly the
originator. www.nap.edu/readingroom/books/evolution98/evol6-a.html

A few years ago at an ASTC session (maybe in Charlotte), we did an
activity with a cube with six names on it. The task was to use the
information on five of the sides to decide the name and numbers written
on the sixth side (FRANCENE, 4, 8) I love this activity, and I would
love to give proper credit to the person who created it. Will the proud
owner please step forward? Did anyone attend that session and recall
who facilitated it?

Thanks,
