For those in technology centers with an interest in cellular telephony, 
Another interesting project George Antheil was involved in was the 
invention of spread spectrum radio, which is the basis of all modern cel 
phone systems. The co-inventor of this technology was  actress Hedy 
Lamarr (also allegedly the first movie star to appear naked on film).
