Mac

we have to deal with many languages all the time
for a new exhibition (opening in one month) we are going to try what we call "the interactive label"
each exhibit will have a touch screen and a barcode reader
each visitor gets a bracelet with barcode
when you scan your barcode for the first time you can choose a language on the touch screen,
on the touch screen you will then get instructions on what to do, feedback, the possibility to get background info,..
scanning your barcode at a second exhibit will immediately put that exhibit in the right language for you
in a few months I can tell you if this is succesfull or not

Experimentarium (Copenhagen) has a good solution for three languages: they use triangular displays , you can turn the language of your choice towards you, when you release them they fall back so that Danish is on top

Is there an institution that does signage in multiple languages really well?
And by that I mean they don't just have twice the signs - one in English,
one in Spanish - they have figured out ways to convey the info without
bombarding people with text?
