ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.
*****************************************************************************

In microbiology class for 9-12 we have in the past gown cheek cell
and room surface cultures from participants in petri dishes with
growth medium. Teachers have used a hot pad for aches and pains to
create a warm environment.Once the cultures have been grown and
looked at they are put in a biohazard bag and autoclaved. Teachers
are very strict about proceedures handling of the cultures during
class and behavior in the classroom. Surfaces are whipped with bleach
solution and NO eating in the room
