I may be biased, but I'd say that relatively speaking, operating an outreach
program is pretty efficient, and can bring in big bucks.

For in-house programming: robots. We run a summer camp with different themes
each week (weather, animals, dinosaurs etc). Robot week gets 2-3 times as
many registrations as anything else --- even though we charge more for it!
The extra $$$ goes to getting OWI kits that the kids assemble and take home
at the end of the week.

This is a question aimed at the smaller museums out there (say
5,000-10,000 sq ft or below), but advice from the biggies is always
welcome.

What are your most successful and popular programs/services/events
that (here is the catch) are strong revenue generators (e.g. b-day
parties, camps, lectures, the annual egg drop competition....).

Thanks in advance!

Explorit's expanding! Read more about the four gallery spaces, how
the building connects to Explorit's current site and when
construction will begin at
