"Truth is the daughter of time, not of authority."

I read that in Brecht's "Galileo" last weekend.
Great story--would make a great Hollywood film if the industry could  
consider taking a break from the remake.

Umberto Eco wrote, in "the Open Work," that "Galileo" was one of the  
first modern literary works to employ a "perfectly ambiguous ending"  
--of course, one might argue, this ambiguity mirrors real life and may  
be the best we can hope for in such debate.

And we may also hope that Time will set the Truth free.
