ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago seeks a dynamic, energetic and
self-motivated individual with proven experience in program development to
lead education programming for our new multi-million dollar U-505 exhibit
experience.   

Education Coordinator - U-505 Exhibit
Education Department
Temporary Full Time (Dec. 2004 - Dec. 2005)

Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include coordination of content development and
execution of programming for the highly anticipated, newly renovated U-505
exhibit. Programming will be targeted at both the general public and school
groups and may include, but is not limited to: online activities and
downloads, live demonstrations, fact & activity poster development, student
and teacher workshops, and more.  Exhibit launch date is June 2005.

This person will:
*Coordinate all daily aspects of the project, including project budget and
timeline 
*Coordinate all development of programming (from brainstorming phase to
training to execution) 
*Train all staff, including volunteers and Guest Service employees, on
programming(once concepts are developed), pedagogy and World War II
background 
*Publish protocol for creating new exhibit programming 
*Establish working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
(including consultants and donors) 

The position reports to the Manager of Public Programs in the Education
Department. 
Qualifications:
*A Bachelor's degree in social studies, science, or education, plus two to
three years of experience working in an informal and/or formal education
environment is required 
*Candidates should have experience creating educational programming and
materials for students, teachers, and families within the grade 4-8 range 
*Candidates must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills,
plus the ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines 
*Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and reliable
transportation
