POSITION AVAILABLE - Research & Evaluation Associate
St. Louis Science Center

Description:
As a member of the Research & Evaluation team, the Research & Evaluation 
Associate will be primarily responsible for 1) Conducting visitor studies 
research through data collection, data entry, analysis, and reporting on 
departmental projects and 2) maintaining database systems necessary to the 
function of the Research & Evaluation Department. The Research & 
Evaluation Associate will participate in planning, conducting and 
communicating results from the overall program of research and evaluation 
studies.

Qualifications:
B.A. or B.S. degree with courses social science research design, 
statistics, museum studies, and/or database design.  The ideal candidate 
will have experience in survey research, program or exhibit evaluation in 
a museum setting, or naturalistic inquiry.  Must have basic knowledge of 
descriptive and inferential statistics.  Experience with SPSS statistical 
software strongly preferred.  Must have excellent computer skills 
including proficiency with Microsoft Office computer applications for 
graphing, word processing, spread sheets, and databases and be able to 
quickly learn new computer applications.  Experience with database design 
in Microsoft Access preferred, but not required.  Must have excellent oral 
and written communication skills.  Good interpersonal skills for working 
with the public and co-workers.  Must be well organized, flexible, 
detail-oriented, capable of handling several projects at the same time, 
and able to work well as part of a team.
