ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

I just got through a copy of this great new publication, Make,
published by O'Reilly.

It's for people who love to get down and dirty with making things--the
can-do 'tude of ReadyMade with a dash of the hackerly Wired thrown in.
They call it a "mook" (more than a magazine, kind of a thin
book--really nicely designed.)

Their premiere issue features, among other things, that science center
gem Kite Aerial Photography (with step-by-step instructions), an
article on making a Magnetic Stripe Reader (like building a decoder
ring on steroids), and profiles of dorkbots and fablabs.

You can see the contents online at
	http://make.oreilly.com/current/

I got a copy from a friend, but apparently right now you can get it
through Amazon (isbn 0596009224). They'll be hitting bookstores soon.
Maybe a science center gift shop with a DIY streak to it would be
interested too? The people who put it together seem to be genuinely
nice, and clever to boot.

:) mi
