ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

Hello,

If you are just completed, part of, thinking of or curious about
science center expansion I wish to make you aware of a new Listserv
that I recently started at Liberty Science Center. It is a result of
the ASTC RAP, "Exhibits and Expansion in the 21st Century," that we held
at the science center last June with the New York Hall of Science and
the Brooklyn Children's Museum. This RAP reviewed the changing nature,
processes and issues that science centers have with expansions.

It's a way for us to share information, ask questions and communicate
on exhibition expansion and building expansion issues. We found that
the attendees were eager to continue discussions and I think this will
enable us to do so. Despite having a rather large turnout for the RAP, I
thought that our discussion would benefit if a larger group had
attended, so think of yourselves as new members to the RAP. Please be
informed that I will be managing the Listserv and I only ask that our
discussion focus solely on expansions. This is NOT intended to supplant
the ASTC Listserv but be a more focused discussion for those of us
working/dealing with expansions.

You can join by typing into your browser:

listserv.lsc.org

Then click on subscribing to the Listserv titled
Science_Center_Expansion. Follow the directions! You will then be able
to post your thoughts, issues and questions.

I hope all is well with you, and I look forward to hearing from you
"online." Please pass this invite along to others as well.

Sincerely,

Wayne
