Dear Colleagues,

    The first Sunday of every month is "Pay What You Wish" (emphasis on
"Wish") at the Virginia Discovery Museum.  It is announced in our calendar
and on a prominent sign posted out front.  This approach generates some
income without disrespecting our visitors.  Our front desk volunteer simply
reminds visitors that they may place a contribution in the box either upon
entering or leaving.  Some will make no contribution, but, occassionally,
some will give more than the regular admission fee.   Original Message ---
