Sorry, I know people are getting bored with this subject but I just had to
write.... I work with women who are on WIC and I am on WIC myself. All of
the pre natals in my county take an infant feeding class. I have the
opportunity to tell these women the truth about abm. I have a forum where I
can teach and council women who would have otherwise artificially fed there
babies mainly due to lack of knowledge fueled by myths and untruths about
breastfeeding. Therefore I have the ability to change there attitudes and
the lives of thier children.

I guess for me the old "Think globaly act locally" thing aplies here. I
know that through my work I have educated and changed the minds of many
women and I hope that they will in turn they will do the same. I would
never have been able to reach as many as I do with out theplatform I have.

Don't get me wrong, WIC isn't perfect but I can think of no other place
where such important work is being done for breastfeeding, by so many, on
such a large grass roots scale.
