The nail was hit on the head when it was said that we fear lack of
intellectual stimulation, not financial distress when choosing between
staying home and going back to work. Many of us who have spent years getting
an education and preparing for a career cannot imagine staying at home and
"letting that go to waste." For some of us that meant driving home every day
at noon to breastfeed, and making sure we had our children cared for at home,
or at least cared for by someone who knew the importance of breastmilk. We
ran ourselves ragged as a result.

I must admit, after reading Judy's post, that I would have chosen to stay
home, if I had found something as intellectually stimulating as my work, no
matter how little money I would have made.....VNJ
