Hello All,
I can't recall who posted the original question on this, but acceptance by
an IBCLC or ANYother health worker of notepads, pens, growth charts, free
lunches, or any other gifts from an infant formula manufacturer is a
violation of the Who Code, specifically article 7.3:
"No financial or material inducements to promote products within the scope
of the Code should be offered by manufacturers or distributors to health
workers or members of their families, nor should these be accepted by health
workers or members of their families." The Code was ratified by the US
government when President Clinton signed it in the early 90's.
Hope that gives you the back-up you need.
