Greetings Does anyone have any information on this, I looked in the archives and didn't find anything. The baby is 1 week old, the mother 35, first baby, had breast changes in pregnancy, but only able to express a couple cc's (with manual pump). I've suggested she rent an electric for a few days, she is supplementing at the breast with ABM. Baby's face was quite bruised, was admitted to NICU where she had IV's and ABM before being discharged to normal nursery in about 8 hours. She developed jaundice day 2 and a half and went under the light for 36 hours, and is being supplemented at the breast. Someone suggested there may be a relationship with the delay in her milk coming in with the DES. We'll know later if it is just a delay, or lack of adequate stimulation or actually insufficient breast development. Also when she expresses, milk comes from pores all around the base of the nipple, as well as from the ducts on the tip of the nipple!! Always something new!!!!
