I have had many mothers who have babies in the NICU for long periods and
maybe two to three months along their milk supply starts to slow down.
The moms are tired and have been working real hard to keep their supply
up, pumping sometimes q 2 hours. If they take metaclopramide the supply
usually does increase and they are able to go back to pumping q3-4 hours
and produce enough milk to feed their babies when they are unable to be
there to fee the babies.
So my experience has been that metaclopramide works anywhere along the
line that increased milk is needed.
