Hi -

I have been given permission to post the situation.

Most everyone I know has lack of supply problems, here we have the
opposite. Lady gave birth to healthy full term 7#6 oz girl. She has
so much milk they are literally swimming in it. A freezer filled with
8 oz bags.... baby is 8 weeks old and only 8 lbs... obviously eating
lots with all of the milk, but no weight gain.... her doc says baby
is getting only foremilk and that's why no weight gain. no mention of
the green stools I see in my answer book though,.,,

anyway, baby is FTT now with such a low weight gain. mom is at wit's
end because she so badly wants to nurse. I want to suggest to her to
only nurse on one side so she will be more apt to get hindmilk. I also
thought she could pump off the foremilk and then nurse with the
fattier stuff but I thought that might further build her supply???
Also, suggested she skim off the fattier stuff from the pumped milk
and feed that, as she really doesn't want baby to have formula...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Thanks and can't wait to see ya'll at LLLI
