Karen- On Sept. 29, you wrote: >The stories and chitchat (as in what did your child call breastfeeding?) only serve to give the opposition to point out how unprofessional and "radical" we are. < I'm not sure our purpose here is to pander to the nonbreastfeeding advocates. This is our forum to share the info, ideas, frustrations & joys of our professional lives. Maybe it's not so professional to write share the excitement when how a baby we've been working with for a month has finally latched on. But, if I had a not so good day over here in Boston, that's just what I need to hear! Lactnet does not promote itself to be a forum strictly for technical, documented, empirically based. Just like the moms at an LLL meeting, the LCs here make Lacnet what they need it to be. BTW, mine called BF "na-na, neesee & noo-noo". While tandem nursing, my 2nd switched to "noo-noo" when the youngest started using it. My 5 year old calls it noo-noo when he does it, breastfeeding when someone else does it. We are creating a culture here, ladies (and gents, too). When we learn what toddlers & older call BF, we are educating ourselves about the course of BF & its effect on our kids. Hey, it felt good to be up on the soapbox! And Karen, please continue writing to make Lactnet the way *you* want it to be. Ro Andersen (Ro NSLA) Winchester, Massachusetts, USA
