Hi all. Geesh I wish it would warm up here in Vermont. It is still Cooooolld. Received the following call for help this am: CASE STUDY: Mother had first child yesterday. Baby has Pierre-Roban syndrome. (Terry, can you please give us a nutshell description of this ? : ) thanks.) SHort tongue. NO Soft Palate at all. Having trouble latching, or taking adequate nutrition from finger feeding or syringe feeding. The nurses have not bottle fed infant to this point. Mother wants to do breast milk. They have tried a Haberman Feeder without much luck. Any suggestions will be appreciated, and will be passed directly on to the nurse caring for the mother. Mother will be d/c today. Baby will be kept in hospital until adequate feeding plan can be made. Occupational therapist is going to consult with family today. ********************************************************** Kathleen B.
