Alla, The most helpful this for this mum will be to connect with other mums who are continuing to breastfeed their toddlers. In a study I conducted of long term breastfeeding in Australia, women described how connecting with others (many had joined the Australian Breastfeeding Assoc- not when their children were little, but as they approached a year of age) enabled them to continue breastfeeding. Many also used the WHO recommendations on the duration of breastfeeding to defend themselves. It's tough! Being a migrant makes it harder- it's one thing to transgress your own cultural norms but another to transgress the cultural norms of a society in which you are on the margins.
