I received a request from an HCP who wants to know how much milk a mother produces when her baby is six months old. I know, I know - it is like asking how long is a piece of string! I have already explained that it would depend on a multitude of factors, that milk production is pretty stable after it has been established, and so on. She needs the info because she wants to calculate how many calories and nutrients the baby would be getting from milk and how much from other sources. Does anyone know if there is any research on this?
