I have had a mom that was allergic to the carrier cream! Remember - these creams and ointments are chemicals that are dissolved in some type of base. There are pharmacists on lactnet who can explain this, I'm sure. -----Original Message----- From: Lactation Information and Discussion [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Vicky York Sent: Sunday, September 06, 2009 5:29 PM Subject: APNO Has anyone ever heard of overuse of APNO (Jack Newmans all purpose nipple ointment) causing an ulcer on a moms nipple. She attributes it to steroids in the cream.
