While there are real risks associated with feeding babies anything other than human milk, and there are differences between breastfeeding and breastmilk feeding which so far are incompletely understood, I am uncomfortable when speculative information, based on the experience of close acquaintances or oneself seems to be being used as arguments for breastfeeding, such as here: "My oldest is hyper and has attention deficit-the other two don't have these issues. But he got formula. My sister in law has 3 children and they were not BF-oldest bipolar, ADD/HD, 2nd dislexia ADD/HD, 3rd Autism/MR. I try to educate everyone of the dangers of formula..." There are plenty of attachment-parented people with these problems too. It doesn't help our credibility if we use unsubstantiated arguments for why to breastfeed. We can stick to what it definitely accomplishes, there is plenty of material there.
