Our WIC program here in central lower Michigan also gives coupons out
for the farmer's market in my county. There is another, much larger
farmer's market in the next county over but I do not know if WIC does
the same there.

I belong to a small co-op/buying club, we purchase organic produce and
groceries several times per month. I know we accept food stamps (is it
called a bridge card? I'm not 100% sure) and the state told us that we
could do that as long as the total came to at least $100 per month -
which we have no trouble meeting at all. There are quite a few young
families who belong to our co-op, there are quite a few opportunities to
get volunteer hours in so that the member mark up fee is lower.
