I don't understand about the concerns for this baby - any baby born 
as early as this would have underdevloped lungs  and all babies have 
amniotic fluid on their face:)

Hand expression can be highly effective - no reason for it to be less 
effective than a pump, if the right techniques are used and the 
expressing is taking place often enough.
