Hi all,

Reading the nipple shield stuff with interest and the one thing that has
possped up a couple times now is the size of the shield. In my practice I
have never used the 20mm shield other than one time. It was not successful
at all. I had a mom buy one at a local store (for a thoroughly nipple
confused baby) and when I saw her it was clear to me that it was also not
working (hurt mom and baby got no milk per scale) - switched her to a 24mm
and we were in business (great milk transfer).

So, what's up with this 'new' controversy in shield sizes? I have yet to
have a baby have an issue with the 24mm shield. Am I just lucky?? Would
like to learn something new...

Warmly,
Jaye Simpson, IBCLC
