Karen, what has been the birth history? Is there a common thread? I had one mom with sore nipples, baby with a high palate and crossed eyes. They visited someone who did cranio-sacral massage, and within 3 treatments, the eyes were no longer crossed and the mother was no longer complaining of sore nipples. I never looked at the baby's palate after that, but always wondered if there was something related. Best wishes, Heather "Sam" Doak in rainy Ohio << On assessment of both mother and baby, the common theme with these babies has been a high narrow palate. I can only assume their previous children had different shaped mouths as their breastfeeding experiences were quite pain free. My advice has centred around a deeper latch, healing of the nipples and reassurance that this will get better. I would be grateful for any other words of wisdom.
