Perhaps, this isn't exactly what you were looking for as an answer, but I have realized over the years how important all the above is to moms in crisis. As this mom may be aware of, though probably thinking the worst, CP has all levels of severity. With early therapies, some disabilities can be lessened and even prevented. This is actually perfectly fine advice - I wasn't looking for anything in particular other than the best way to help her. As a ped RN she is ahead of me with certain things, so I will be learning from her while doing my best to support her and her family. I have already been to the neuromuscular therapist appt with her and am going to try and go with them Monday to the 2nd swallow study - provided I don't have another consultation. I plan on staying in close contact with this mom - we are becoming friends as well, which just makes it even more important to me to be able to give the best support I can.
