I do not think that it is as clear or simple as someone being self centered.
I think, from my years of work, that it is a case of complex social and
emotional pressures on mothers, and on social isolation causing mothers to
feel uncomfortable breastfeeding. Pain, and lack of cultural support can
also play big factors, as many mothers look for help and do not get proper
guidance or support for painful incorrect latch.
