I, too have seen Progesterone used in the first trimester for people with a history of miscarriage.  They closely monitor the progesterone 
levels.  I believe it is most effective given as a suppository.  I do not know the effects on breastfeeding.
I have also seen the lovenox given to people with a history of misscarriage and fertility problems.  The way it was explained to me is that 
a potential cause of misscarriage and infertility is that in some women the body sees the pregancy as "foreign" and begins to reject it.
As a result, the placenta forms clots, causing the miscarriage.  Giving the lovenox can help prevent the clots.  I have also seen MD's
give baby asprin to patients with infertility issues for the same reason.
