Hi, Mary Kay and others: The question I've been asking myself more and more of late is - What happened to moms own milk to the nipple/areola area after feedings? - It never did NOT work, so why have we abandoned this practice? I suspect for the same reasons that we accuse the formula and other companies of - profit! I've posted on this disturbing trend before - the focus has dramatically shifted from actual breastfeeding, as in baby at breast, to breastfeeding equipment. Then we wonder why breastfeeding rates are declining again?
