Dear Lactnetters, I have searched the archives (and internet sites) before this post. I am looking for some concrete articles/editorials/write-ups/policies that simply explian why handing out "american baby" and the like (ie: Baby Talk from the publishers of Parenting)is not in the best interest of a public health departement. Baby friendly is too hospital specific (obviously) and this advertising isn't specific to actual formula samples vs the formula ads nestled b/w "breastfeeding articles". Could you please help me find some resources clearly stating the adverse effects "american baby" code violations have on it's vulnerable target audience... and the ethical considerations for an entity promoting health distributing the like? I am grateful for the plethora of expertise on LACTNET. Sincerely, Marusia kachkowski, BSN, RN, PHN, IBCLC *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(R) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
